The following are frequently asked general questions about Giving Circles.
Each giving circle should have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 members.
Circle members need to commit for a minimum of 6 months but can be extended if members are keen to continue.
At the first circle meeting, all members will discuss and decide on how much money everyone is comfortable to give each month. It is preferable for everyone to give the same amount, but it is up to the group to decide.
The onboarding session will provide important information about the giving circle and what to expect for the next few months. You will also get to meet your fellow circle members and co-design details of the circle together.
As one of the key traits of the giving circle is to build connections with other like-minded individuals, meeting in-person will help to facilitate this.
During the onboarding session, the circle will collectively decide on the donation frequency. It can be monthly, quarterly or even yearly.

If you’re looking to form or join a Giving Circle to support a family, these frequently asked questions will be of help.
Yes, you can! If you sign up as an individual, you will be matched with other circle members based on the profile of the family you would like to support.
Yes, you are encouraged to sign up as a group with your family, friends, co-workers and neighbours!
If you sign up as a group of fewer than 5 people, we will match you with other individuals based on the profile of the family you would like to support.
We are working with partners from various social service agencies who can refer and vet the families in need before they are matched with the giving circles.

Members can either:
Donate individually to an existing campaign on giving.sg, or pool funds and have the Circle Champion donate on behalf of the group.
Create a new fundraising campaign for the chosen charity, where all members can contribute.
No, you do not have to. The circle can choose to support different causes and charities depending on the circle’s area of interest and collective goals.
