PVPA 2025 Entries

About PVPA 2025

In 2019, NVPC undertook a review of PVPA to see how the awards could better achieve thier objectives, strengthen the nomination process, and improve the post-awards engagement of our winners.

In 2020, NVPC organised the PVPA 2020 Special Edition – The Finest Hour in the City of Good, to honour individuals, leaders, and organisations that have contributed back to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic period.

From 2021 onwards, PVPA conferred awards in 10 categories aligned to the three broad pillars of People of Good, Organisations of Good, and leaders of Good. In addition, a pinnacle award, The City of Good Award, was introduced to recognise impactful cross-sector partnerships, symbolising how a City of Good can only be built through the collective efforts of individuals, organisations, and leaders in society.

In 2025, PVPA introduces a new pillar – the Communities of Good, to strengthen recognition of formal and informal groups, with the previous Non-Profit Award split into Small & Medium and Large Charities, and a Groundup award introduced. This brings the total number of awards to be conferred this year to 12, to recognise and celebrate individuals, organisations, leaders, communities, and cross-sector partnerships that have achieved excellence in giving.

Frequently Asked Questions

Large Charities are defined as those with gross annual receipts or total expenditure (whichever is higher) of $10 million or more.

Small & Medium Charities are defined as those with gross annual receipts or total expenditure (whichever is higher) of less than $10 million.

Both the People of Good and Leaders of Good awards are conferred on individual givers, but the nature of their giving differs significantly.

The People of Good awards are meant for people who have demonstrated giving excellence primarily on an individual level, e.g. are committed donors and volunteers who have succeeded in building a relationship with their chosen cause, charity, or community.

The Leaders of Good awards are designed for individuals who have achieved success in galvanising and inspiring others to do good together with them, thereby scaling up their impact.

We will typically only select 1 winner per award category. However, in years when there are truly deserving and exceptional candidates, the judges may exercise their discretion to award a tie.

If, in a given year, the PVPA judges deem no candidate to be deserving and exceptional, they may choose not to award a prize in the particular category.

All sensitive information submitted will be kept confidential. However, NVPC may share the contents of the entry publicly with the media for the purposes of publicity, marketing of PVPA, and other related programmes and initiatives.

From 2021 onwards, PVPA winners will be eligible to apply for the awards again after at least 3 years have elapsed. For instance, if you are a PVPA 2023 winner, the earliest you will be eligible for the PVPA again will be in 2026.

You may apply or be nominated for a PVPA Award Category. However, to ensure a complete application, the entry must be jointly completed by both the nominee/applicant and the nominator/referee.

You may nominate a deserving individual/organisation for a PVPA Award Category. However, to ensure a complete application, the entry must be jointly completed by both the nominee/applicant and the nominator/referee.

The judging panel will award candidates in the category they are most suited for. Therefore, we encourage submissions for the category in which you think you / your organisation excels in, based on the eligibility criteria.

Using the given example, if your CEO is not just instrumental in directing your organisation’s CSR efforts, but is also actively involved outside of the organisation with other efforts to give back to the community, he/she may be considered for the Leaders of Good award. If your CEO is not active in giving outside of the organisation, but your organisation nevertheless has a strong corporate giving track record, you may consider nominating them for the relevant Organisations of Good award category.

New 2025 Champions will be eligible to be considered for PVPA 2025.

2024 Champions can also be considered.

Champions of Good Awards in 2025 are automatically considered for PVPA 2025 under the relevant Organisations of Good award category, therefore no further nomination submissions are needed to be considered for PVPA 2025 – Organisations of Good (Large Enterprise/Small Medium & Social Enterprise, Public Institution) award categories.

Champions of Good 2025 will need to apply for all other PVPA 2025 award categories to be considered. These categories are the People of Good and Leaders of Good categories respectively.

Companies and Public Institutions must be nationally recognised as a Champion of Good under the Company of Good Recognition System to be eligible for consideration for the Organisations of Good Award.

All PVPA winners are awarded a trophy, presented by the President of Singapore, and the exclusive use of the PVPA category logo which may be displayed on their website, e-mail signatures, and other collaterals. Communities of Good and Leaders of Good winners may also be awarded opportunities to learn skills to further their giving journey.
