The Fullerton Heritage, a firm supporter of women’s causes, and Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations, the national coordinating body of women’s organisation, join forces for International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8, has been celebrated annually and globally for the past 100 years, and marks the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

This year, The Fullerton Heritage partners the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisation (SCWO) to celebrate the occasion. Founded in March 1980 by women, SCWO seeks to promote equality for women.

Mr Giovanni Viterale, general manager of The Fullerton Heritage, says: “We first started supporting SCWO in 2015 with the inception of our Fullerton Celebrates Women campaign. In March 2015, we co-organised a Singapore Women Pioneers’ Heritage Walk in the Civic District where The Fullerton Heritage precinct is located, and housed a historical exhibition which featured Singaporean pioneers and trailblazers from various sectors who have been inducted into the SCWO Hall of Fame through the years.”

Along with those programmes, The Fullerton Hotel had also launched themed tea sets, cocktails and other merchandises to celebrate the occasion, with partial proceeds from each item going to the SCWO Service Fund to benefit the marginalised women.

BloomingAfternoonTea Contest

This year, The Fullerton Heritage created a special floral themed afternoon tea set, floral plush bears and an art exhibition featuring floral masterpieces of Croatian artist Ana Tzarev. Priced at S$48++ per adult and S$27++ per child, the set includes treats such as lychee, rose and raspberry choux, berries with hibiscus jus, lavender macaroons and Bergamot tea friandise. For every tea set sold, $5 went to the SCWO Service Fund.
