At NVPC, employees are at the heart of what we do, and their well-being is key to driving positive change. NVPC’s Take-a-Pause (TAP) leave is a special initiative that grants employees two weeks of paid leave for every three years of full-time service. The intention is to encourage employees to step away from work, recharge, and return with fresh perspectives.
Low Hui Xin, Senior Manager of Human Resources, took advantage of her TAP Leave to embark on an adventure in Switzerland and France. Having spent a decade in the workforce, she now had her first extended break—that turned out to be a transformative experience.
Embracing the Pause

For Hui Xin, this trip was not just about sightseeing; it was about slowing down, immersing herself in nature, and reflecting on life beyond work. From the serene lakes of Switzerland to the charming streets of Paris, every moment allowed her to reset and appreciate the beauty of nature around her.
Conquering New Heights
One of the most remarkable parts of her journey was in Chamonix, France, where she faced a long-standing fear—heights. Taking a bold step, she went paragliding over the majestic Mont Blanc.

“It was something I never imagined doing, but I pushed myself to take the leap,” Hui Xin shared. The experience left her exhilarated, allowing her to embrace stepping out of her comfort zone.
The Impact of Rest

Returning to work after this well-deserved break, Hui Xin felt more energised, focused, and inspired. “The time off gave me the space to reflect and come back with renewed motivation,” she said.
Encouraging a Culture of Rest and Renewal
At NVPC, prioritising employee well-being fosters a more engaged and passionate workforce. Employees are encouraged to make the most of TAP Leave, whether it’s for travel, personal growth, spending time with the family or simply resting at home. When we take care of our people, they bring their best selves to the organisation, creating a ripple effect of positive impact.
