Whistleblowing
Whistleblowing
1. Our Commitment
NVPC is committed to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, accountability, ethical and legal conduct in all that we do. Our whistleblowing channel is established to promote standards of good financial and corporate governance practices and deter wrongdoing by providing avenues to our stakeholders to raise concerns about suspected improprieties within or related to NVPC, in confidence and without fear of reprisal.
2. Who Can Speak Up
This channel is open to everyone, such as:
- Employees and volunteers
- Donors and partners
- Vendors and service providers
- Beneficiaries and members of the public
3. What You Can Report
Any reports should be made in good faith, based on reasonable grounds, evidence, and without personal or ulterior motives.
You can raise matters such as:
- Misuse of NVPC’s funds or resources
- Fraud, bribery, corruption, or conflict of interest without disclosure
- Harassment, abuse, safety issues, or unethical conduct
- Violations of laws, regulations, or policies
- Any activities that may harm NVPC or the communities we serve
False or malicious reports undermine trust in the process and will not be tolerated. Such cases may be addressed accordingly. For matters related to general enquiries and feedback, please submit them via the Contact Us page instead.
4. How to Make a Report
Concerns should be raised in writing to NVPC by emailing to [email protected]. All emails are private and confidential and are only accessible in the first instance by NVPC’s Audit & Risk Committee members.
We encourage you to provide as much information as possible to help us review your report, such as:
- Particulars of the individual(s) (e.g. name, department) believed to be involved
- Particulars of any other witnesses who may attest or assist with investigations
- Details of the incident including date, time and place
- Basis of belief and any other information or supporting documents relevant to the case
5. Confidentiality and Anonymity
Your report and personal details will be treated with strict confidentiality. NVPC is committed to ensuring that individuals who speak up are treated fairly and respectfully. You may choose to remain anonymous, although providing your contact information (such as name and contact) may help facilitate investigations. It should also be noted that anonymous reports will only be investigated if there is clear merit in pursuing them. Our ability to follow-up on your report may be limited if we are unable to reach out to you for the necessary details to commence investigations.
Exceptions to confidentiality may arise in certain circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Where NVPC is under a legal obligation to disclose information or for the purposes of obtaining professional advice
- Where the information is already in the public domain
- Where the information is given to the police or other authorities for investigation
6. Assessment and Action
Every report will be carefully reviewed. Where appropriate, an independent and impartial investigation will be conducted, and appropriate actions will be taken. If you have provided your contact information, further information may be sought from you during the investigation and you will also be kept informed of the progress of the investigation and, where appropriate, the outcome.
