During the most patriotic month of the year, Company of Good had a series of events to spread the goodness of corporate giving. Check out the event highlights here.

1. Winning hearts and minds at Training and Development Asia 2017

17 & 18 Aug – Why, and how, is corporate giving key in attracting, engaging and developing your employees? At the event, the Company of Good Fellowship championed the perks of corporate giving in creating an engaged work experience for employees. Ms Theresa Goh, board member of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, represented us as a panellist.

Company of Good Fellowship is the first and only talent development programme in Singapore that builds capabilities in corporate giving and leadership of executives.

2. Collaborate for Good!

Collaborate for good

16 Aug – Collaborate for Good, our Company of Good Networking Reception, saw over 100 guests from trade associations, intermediaries and corporates mingling and ideating with corporate giving practitioners from various industries.

Featuring exemplary corporate giving stories from Food Bank, IBM, Samsui Supplies & Services, Standard Chartered Bank and The Body Shop, the night sparked more ideas among our guests on how to adapt what these firms have done for their own corporate giving recipe.

3. Good leaders, Great Organisations

Eagles

3 & 4 Aug – We were psyched that outgoing Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin visited our booth at the Eagles Leadership Conference 2017.

Inspiring leaders on how to run good companies, the three-day thought leadership conference in Asia featured distinguished international experts, effective role models, current thinking, latest research and outstanding leadership practices.

Company of Good was there to share how goodness is the business of every organisation – where organisations built on a bedrock of enduring values will outperform and outlast.

We’re heartened to see more business leaders coming on board with Company of Good to make corporate giving a key ingredient for their organisations’ success.

4. What’s the journey at Company of Good Fellowship like?

Fellowship

September – Passionate about the corporate giving movement at #CompanyofGood, Shyn Yee, director of business operations at Expedia, Inc. and a Company of Good fellow says: “Getting to know the fellows and mentors, their motivations and the impact they create, has been both inspiring and humbling. It has made me deliberate the onus of my leadership – where I’ve realised that a greater, collective purpose makes the marathon worth the run.”

In an opinion piece penned by her, she tells us why doing good is an ethical imperative for businesses.
