Mr Claus Meyer

Culinary Entrepreneur and Founder of Melting Pot Foundation

For more than 30 years, Claus Meyer has been a gastronomic entrepreneur. Besides his countless companies employing more than 1000 staff, Meyer is an affiliated professor and distinguished alum at Copenhagen Business School, affiliated professor at Technical University of Denmark, and Social Impact Fellow at University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business.

Through countless initiatives within the food and restaurant industries, Meyer has inspired generations to expect the next meal to be delicious and healthy – and to consider eating an agricultural act. Inspired by his learnings from building noma with Rene Redzepi, and from initiating the Nordic Cuisine Movement, Meyer went on to pursue his dream to help unfold culinary potentials outside of Scandinavia.

The Melting Pot Foundation was initiated by Meyer in 2011, who believed his his professional experience in the culinary world could be applied to a philanthropic framework. As a registered nonprofit foundation, Melting Pot aims to drive social change through culinary entrepreneurship, both locally and globally, in countries as diverse as Denmark, Bolivia, the USA and Morocco. Melting Pot Foundation’s goal is to leverage hospitality as a tool that brings benefits, and joy, to the greatest possible number of people possible through Food and Culinary Centres and an agile mix of programs designed to serve the communities they are in.
