The inaugural CapitaLand Giving Marketplace raised $6,000 for charity.
The inaugural CapitaLand Giving Marketplace gave multiple social enterprises and charities the opportunity to share their causes and products with staff and tenants of CapitaLand, such as Nord/LB, Philips, BCD Travel and more. Through this meaningful event, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand, raised more than S$6,000 to benefit participating charities and Rainbow Centre Singapore, CapitaLand Commercial Trust’s adopted charity for 2017.

Held on 25 August at Capital Tower in the heart of the Central Business District, the CapitaLand Giving Marketplace was a hive of activity with CapitaLand’s staff and tenants purchasing delectable baked treats and artistic crafts, as well as learning more about volunteering opportunities available.
For every item purchased or donations made at the marketplace, CapitaLand Hope Foundation committed to donate S$3 to participating charities and another S$3 to Rainbow Centre Singapore.

One of the highlights was a lunch talk titled The Art of Giving by guest speakers Ms Winifred Loh, Director of Centre for Non-Profit Leadership at the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and Ms Priscilla Gan, Director, Community Chest, who inspired attendees with their insights to do more for good. Touching on up and coming possibilities within the giving sector, executives were introduced to different ways of giving like skills-based volunteering, where they are extremely well-placed to start their giving from.

Sharing the spirit of giving, participating social enterprises and charities at the event included Centre for Non-Profit Leadership, Community Chest, Company of Good, Bettr Barista, Flour Power, Metta Welfare Organization, MINDS, Rainbow Centre Singapore, Very Special Arts Singapore and World Vision.
