Organised by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards (PVPA) is the pinnacle award and platform to recognise individuals, organisations and leaders who have achieved excellence in giving.
The PVPA Leaders of Good Award category celebrates inspiring multiplier leaders, who have devoted their time, talent, treasure, and voice; galvanising others to create a positive impact in society. Read on to learn more about this year’s winners!
Leaders of Good (Adult) Winner – Yap Su-Yin
Passionate about governance, philanthropy and volunteerism, Su-Yin employs a hands-on style and approach to her community give back efforts. She helped to set up Singapore’s first Community Justice Centre. During the pandemic, she started NTU’s first ever Service Week, engaging 600 volunteers in community deeds that benefitted more than 5000 beneficiaries.
Leaders of Good (Youth) Winner – Yuvan Mohan
Yuvan was involved in over 15 SINDA Youth Club (SYC) initiatives, engaging over 600 youths, and helping in the development of 84 youth leaders. He has been the Chairperson for SYC since 2021. With his strong leadership, Yuvan has always been able to rally many volunteers to join him in his community efforts. He also volunteers with the National Youth Council (NYC), managing a youth team and supporting over 240 projects annually through funding.
