As we gear up to the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards (PVPA) 2023 this October, we bring to you stories of nominees who have dedicated their time and skills to volunteerism. Read on, watch, and discover what drives them to spark change and help uplift the communities they are moved by to serve.

Celia Tan – Leader of Good (Adult) Nominee

As a trained physiotherapist, Celia has been volunteering with the Singapore International Foundation for over two decades, bringing clinical skills and expertise to communities in our neighbouring countries. She was nominated in the Leader of Good (Adult) Category in PVPA 2023.

Emily Yap – Leader of Good (Youth) Nominee

During the pandemic, Emily saw how her grandmother struggled with grocery shopping which sparked a desire in her to help other similar vulnerable elderly and families through her groundup Dunearn Youth. For her efforts, she was nominated as a Leader of Good (Youth) in PVPA 2023.

Winston Wong – People of Good (Open) Nominee

Diagnosed with hearing loss from young and having faced bullying while growing up, it didn’t stop Winston from remaining positive and overcoming challenges. As an Inclusion Champion and volunteer with SG Enable, he uses his own personal experiences as a way to raise awareness on disabilities and to inspire others around him. He was nominated for the People of Good (Open) category in this year’s President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards.
