National Day reminds us that we are stronger as a community. While most of us are able to adapt during the pandemic, others remain vulnerable.

Let the kampong spirit live on. Here are some ways you can donate this August.

Educate Youths Against Bullying

Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association (CARE Singapore) focuses on helping at-risk youth succeed in life. CARE’s work has impacted well over 30,000 youths.

Bullying

Now, CARE is fundraising to “Stop Bullying”. A form of youth violence, bullying inflicts mental, physical and emotional harm upon its victims. In Singapore, 1 in 4 school students have been bullied before. When unaddressed, bullying may link to other negative outcomes such as mental health issues, substance use or suicide.

CARE specialists are committed to helping these youths turn their lives around with motivational engagement, socio-emotional support and education. Help them make a big difference to troubled youth and educate against bullying by donating here.

Cheer For Singapore’s Para Athletes

Just like the Olympics, the Paralympic games happen every four years and it is for people with a wide range of disabilities. This year, it takes place right after the Olympics from 24 August to 5 September.

Highly skilled in their fields, our para athletes prove that nothing is impossible, despite their unique challenges. Their determination and courage to overcome mental and physical obstacles are truly commendable.

Singapore Paraathletes

Singapore National Paralympic Council (SNPC) is focused on supporting and empowering Singapore’s para athletes, without direct government funding. Your contribution will go towards supporting our para athletes realise their full potential at other major Games held this year, namely Bahrain 2021 Asian Youth Para Games and Hanoi 2021 ASEAN Para Games. Support Persons With Dementia

Dementia is a progressive condition that affects memory, thinking and social abilities. It is a daunting experience not just for the patients, but also their families. The right care and support will help improve their quality of life.

Dementia

To navigate this journey, Alzheimer’s Disease Association (ADA) provides quality dementia care services for persons with dementia and their families. Through public education and events to encourage early detection and intervention, they also hope to increase awareness and advocate for a dementia-friendly community.

With your support, they can fund more programmes and services to benefit their patients and families. Click here to donate to the ADA to walk this journey with them.

Comfort The Terminally-ill

To minimise risk of exposure to Covid-19, many of the terminally-ill choose to stay at home. This is when HCA Hospice Care plays their role to support the patients in the comfort of their own homes, a place they desire to be, at the end of their lives.

HCA

HCA provides over 36,000 home visits and serves about 3,600 patients annually. All their services are free-of-charge and hence, donations go a long way to support their patients in their last days.

Empower Youth-at-risk

The enhanced measures of Phase 2 have heightened uncertainties. During this time, youth-at-risk are facing adversities and at greater vulnerability.

Trybe, a social service agency, offers youth guidance and support for their families and communities to create a complete ecosystem of care from community-based interventions to individual aftercare services. Financial instability, trauma and abandonment issues, are some of the developed behaviours that puts them and others at risk.

With your generous donation, the youths will have access to urgent support and assistance. What better way to bring the Singapore Spirit alive than empowering our youths? Help them to not just survive, but thrive. Donate here.

This National Day, let’s continue to care for and support one another. Together, let us become the City of Good! Explore more fundraising campaigns: www.giving.sg
