The inaugural Champions of Good by the NVPC recognises 45 Singapore-based businesses for their sterling efforts and commitment.
Singapore, 7 November 2017 – The National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) held the inaugural Champions of Good recognition event at the Shangri-La Hotel earlier today. Among the recognised businesses were 25 large enterprises and 20 small and medium enterprises in Singapore that have been outstanding leaders and ambassadors of corporate giving. The event was graced by guest-of-honour, Minister Heng Swee Keat as well as senior business leaders and corporate giving practitioners from across several industries.
“Society is facing complex challenges at an unprecedented level and we believe that businesses have the potential to make a significant difference. Besides driving economic stability, businesses can also catalyse social change through their influence, partnerships and business models,” says Melissa Kwee, Chief Executive Officer of NVPC. “Today, we are celebrating 45 Champions that have harnessed their resources, expertise and partnerships to create both social and business value. We hope that they will inspire fellow businesses in Singapore to help build a City of Good,” she adds.
The Champions of Good is a national recognition framework under Company of Good that was launched by NVPC in partnership with the Singapore Business Federation Foundation in June 2016 to “make goodness the business of every organisation”. The Company of Good programme is designed to empower businesses to give better and more holistically and to guide companies in their corporate giving journey. The Champions of Good seeks to recognise leaders in corporate giving who are also influencers and multipliers.
