● Giving.sg donations hit a record high of $102 million at close of FY20/21 on 31 Mar 2021
● Giving.sg extends waiver for the platform’s 3% transaction fee for another year
SINGAPORE, 5 April 2021 — The Singapore spirit continues to shine brightly through the Covid-19 pandemic as Giving.sg hits a record $102M in donations during FY20/21 (1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021) thanks to the generosity of the People, Organisations and Leaders in our City of Good.
Riding on the back of several milestones in the past year, the leading national digital giving platform reported a 158% increase in donations during FY20 compared to FY19 following a spike in donations in 2020, supported by the Solidarity Payment in April 2020 and the waiver of the 3% transaction fee on the platform. Through the waiver, charities can receive the full value of donations, which translates to greater impact for their beneficiaries.
While the Covid-19 situation in Singapore may be stabilising, many are still grappling with the aftershocks of the pandemic, and charities are not exempt. To continue supporting the non-profit sector and to help the 600 charities registered on the platform tide over the upcoming year, Giving.sg will be extending the 3% transaction fee waiver for another year until 31 March 2022.
The multitude of giving efforts that have surfaced during this difficult period shows that anyone and everyone can give, and that every little act of giving, when multiplied by millions, can make a world of difference.
