SINGAPORE, 12 March 2025 — The National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) is calling for entries for the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards (PVPA) 2025. Now in its 13th edition, the PVPA is conferred by the President of Singapore and represents the highest national accolade for individuals, organisations, leaders, communities, and cross-sector partnerships that have achieved excellence in giving and contributed towards creating a more caring, inclusive and compassionate society in Singapore.

Introduced for the first time at the PVPA 2025, the “Communities of Good” (CMOG) pillar is aimed at recognising the vital role played by charities and groundups in strengthening our communities and building a City of Good.

The new CMOG pillar will offer three award categories to recognise Large Charities, Small & Medium Charities, and Groundups. Groundups are informal groups that run volunteer-led initiatives without an official charity status. Previously, there was only a single award category targeting charities – Organisations of Good (Non-Profit). The expanded award framework for charities and groundups reflects the increasing diversity and modality of giving efforts and their growing impact on society.

The People of Good (Student) category will also increase the age ceiling from 16 years old to 19 years old to recognise a wider pool of youth-led initiatives and young changemakers among tertiary institutions.
