The National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) launches the Flexi Volunteering Programme, targets 60 corporate partners in support of SG60

19 June 2025

SINGAPORE, 19 June 2025 – The National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) launched the Flexi Volunteering Programme (FVP) today at the SG60 Connect! Series event, which gathered some 200 attendees from the corporate sector. Ms Goh Hanyan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, was the Guest-of-Honour at the event.

Encouraging corporate volunteerism through bite-sized commitments

In line with NVPC’s Company of Good strategy to encourage more companies to pursue profit with purpose, the FVP is designed to help companies, regardless of size and maturity to start volunteering regularly through bite-sized commitments.

For the inaugural run of the FVP, NVPC aims to onboard 60 companies, which will be paired with 10 community partners. They will complete at least two volunteering sessions and contribute 60 volunteer hours each, targeting 3,600 hours collectively.

This programme builds on insights from Project V, a pilot initiative started by NVPC and the National Council of Social Service in 2023 to match companies to social service agencies (SSAs) that need recurring support. This ensures a reliable volunteer support for SSAs to improve services and create sustainable social impact over time.

Lin Sufei (Director, Corporate & Industry Partnerships, NVPC) said, “As Singapore marks its 60 years of independence, we are reminded of the values that have shaped our nation: resilience and care for others. In that spirit, we’ve designed the Flexi Volunteering programme that stays attuned to the evolving needs of companies. Through a bite-sized and accessible approach, we aim to make it easier for companies to kickstart their volunteering journey with confidence.”

Mr Steven Yeo, Executive Director of the Caregiving Welfare Association, a community partner offering several FVP opportunities, said, “The Flexi Volunteering Programme is a wonderful opportunity for us to collaborate with companies in support of seniors and their caregivers. As a community partner, we are excited to offer tailored volunteering opportunities that align with our mission of uplifting our beneficiaries, while engaging the corporate sector in ways that have a lasting impact. This initiative allows us to create stronger, more diverse partnerships that benefit both our cause and the volunteers who get involved, in support of SG60.”

About National Day Parade (NDP) 2025’s #GiveAsOneSG campaign

The launch of the FVP coincides with the National Day Parade 2025’s (NDP 2025) #GiveAsOneSG campaign which runs from 10 June to 10 August 2025. In its third iteration, the #GiveAsOneSG campaign presents “60 Days of Giving” to mark SG60. It aims to encourage both individuals and corporates towards volunteerism and philanthropy to celebrate National Day in a more meaningful way.  Information on our charity partners and how individuals can contribute through the #GiveAsOneSG campaign can be found on NVPC’s giving.sg platform (www.giving.sg/content/NDPGiveAsOneSG).

Colonel Chong Shi Hao, Chairman of the NDP 2025 Executive Committee, said, “NDP 2025 is honoured to partner with NVPC in organising the third iteration of our #GiveAsOneSG campaign. Through this, we hope to encourage Singaporeans to view giving back as a tradition that we practise during the National Day season, similar to flying our national flag and wearing red and white. Individuals and corporates, who are keen to include giving elements as part of their National Day celebrations, are invited to reach out to us for support. We hope that through each act, big or small, we are able to become a kinder, more inclusive, and compassionate Singapore.”

SG60 edition of Company of Good Connect! Series

As Singapore celebrates 60 years of nationhood, NVPC is proud to partner with the NDP 2025 Committee for a special edition of the Company of Good SG60 Connect! Series. This event aims to bring together purpose-driven organisations and changemakers to connect with community partners and take meaningful steps towards volunteering and giving.

The SG60 Connect! Series event attracted 200 representatives from around 100 companies. It also saw the Community Chest promote SGSHARE and 10 other charities showcasing other opportunities to do good at the ‘Connect! Marketplace’.

Mr Vishal Vijay, CEO of Agrocorp International, a Company of Good partner that shared their corporate volunteering experience during the event, said, “Our journey with the Company of Good network has been instrumental in shaping our Corporate Purpose and volunteerism strategy. Building on this experience, we aim to inspire and guide other companies in launching their own volunteering initiatives. This programme enables us to give back to the community while reinforcing a culture of purpose-driven impact in Singapore, showcasing how businesses can do well by doing good.”
