PVPA Terms and Conditions

By applying for the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2026, the candidate and referee acknowledge and agree to the full Terms and Conditions.
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, continued participation in the submission process after such updates constitutes your acceptance of these revised Terms.
1. Eligibility and Submission
1.1 All submissions must meet the eligibility criteria for the relevant award category at the point of submission.
1.2 Submissions must be completed accurately and truthfully and may be jointly completed by the candidate and referee.
1.3 Individual(s) must not be involved in any legal/criminal proceedings, litigation, bankruptcy, or regulatory infractions at the point of submission.
1.4 Individual(s) must not be PVPA recipient(s) in the past three years in any PVPA category.
1.5 For age-based categories, eligibility is based on the individual(s)’s age as of the calendar year 2026. Proof of identity for verification must be produced upon request.
1.6 Open submissions are not accepted for the Organisations of Good award category. Consideration for this category is limited to organisations recognised as “Champions of Good” under the “Company of Good Recognition System (COGRS)”. Clauses 6 to 11 of the COGRS shall apply. 1.7 NVPC reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to determine eligibility and to disqualify any candidate who does not comply with these Terms and Conditions. The overall integrity and objectivity of the eligibility and evaluation processes are integral to the spirit of the award and the rights under this clause also apply to breaches of in respect of the overall spirit and purpose of this Award.
2. Evaluation Process
2.1 All submissions will be reviewed by the PVPA Secretariat to ensure compliance with eligibility requirements and award criteria.
2.2 The PVPA Secretariat reserves the right to contact candidates and referees to discuss submissions for clarification and/or verification purposes.
2.3 Eligible submissions may be shortlisted and evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges representing the public, private, and people/non-profit sectors.
2.4 Participation in interviews, filming, or related activities does not constitute confirmation of an award and does not guarantee final selection.
2.5 All decisions relating to the Awards are final. NVPC shall not be obliged to provide any reasons in relation to any decision made.
2.6 NVPC reserves the right not to confer an award in any category if, in its sole discretion, no submission meets the required standard.
3. Background, Due Diligence, and Verification
3.1 NVPC and its third-party partners reserve the right to conduct background and reference checks as part of the due diligence process at any stage of the evaluation process.
3.2 NVPC reserves the right to withhold, revoke, or withdraw an award if information provided is found to be false, misleading, incomplete, or fails to meet the eligibility requirements.
4. Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy
4.1 Each candidate represents and warrants that no Immediate Family Member has nominated, referred, endorsed, or recommended the candidate for the Awards.
4.2 For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, “Immediate Family Member” includes a spouse, child, sibling, parent, stepchild, stepparent, and any mother-, father-, son-, daughter-, brother-, or sister-in-law.
4.3 An Immediate Family Member may provide factual, administrative, or technical assistance in the preparation of a submission, provided that such assistance does not amount to nomination, referral, endorsement, or recommendation of the candidate.
4.4 NVPC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any submission in the event of any breach of this clause 4 and all its sub-clauses.
4.5 Any potential conflicts of interest must be declared. NVPC reserves the right to assess whether a conflict of interest exists and whether it compromises the objectivity of the evaluation process. If in doubt, the Candidate should declare the COI (defined below) / potential COI to NVPC. To preserve the integrity and objectivity of the evaluation process, where the Candidate fails to declare a COI or a potential COI, then NVPC’s rights under clause 4.4 shall also apply, regardless of when the COI / potential COI was discovered. A failure to declare a COI / potential COI alone is sufficient grounds for NVPC’s exercise of its discretion under clause 4.4.
4.6 A conflict-of-interest (COI) applies to members of the Candidate’s immediate family (defined as their spouse, child, sibling, parent, stepchild, stepparent, as well as mother-, father-, son-, daughter-, brother-, or sister-in-law) and to any other individuals who live in their household except for tenants and household employees. If a relationship with a distant relative or friend could influence your objectivity as a referee, then you should adhere to the COI statement and avoid the situation.
4.7 NVPC’s determination on the existence or impact of any conflict of interest shall be final and binding.
5. Confidentiality of Results
5.1 All PVPA winners and shortlisted candidates must keep the award results confidential until NVPC’s official announcement.
5.2 Any unauthorised disclosure of results prior to official announcement may result in immediate disqualification or revocation of the award at NVPC’s sole discretion. NVPC shall not be liable for any consequences arising from such disqualification or revocation.
6. Publicity and Use of Information
6.1 By submitting an entry, candidates and referees grant NVPC permission to use, reproduce, adapt, and publish submitted content for the purposes of publicity, marketing, education, and promotion of PVPA and other NVPC-related programmes and initiatives. Such permission shall be non-exclusive, royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable and worldwide.
6.2 This may include sharing content with the media and publication on NVPC’s marketing platforms and materials.
6.3 PVPA recipients may be invited by NVPC to share their award-winning practices and experience to inspire and empower others.
6.4 All sensitive information submitted will be kept confidential. Candidates are required to mark and/or specify information which they deem sensitive and wish to be kept confidential.
6.5 By submitting an entry, candidates consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal data by NVPC and its authorised service providers for the purposes of administering, evaluating, promoting, and publicising the Awards in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
7. Changes to Terms & Conditions
7.1 NVPC reserves the right at its own discretion to make changes to these terms & conditions at any time without prior notice.
