NVPC’s inaugural National Corporate Purpose & Impact Study 2025 (NCPIS 2025) offers an evidence‑based view of how businesses in Singapore advance responsible practices as part of good corporate citizenship. The study surveyed 1,100 companies, reflecting how corporate purpose and impact are practised across the broader economy.

As expectations now extend beyond profit to include sustainability and inclusivity, companies are recognising that their impact is greater than financial. This study fills a critical knowledge gap by providing a nationally representative picture of Singapore’s business landscape—where 99% of firms are SMEs—and examining how businesses care for the stakeholders they affect: employees, the community, the business ecosystem, the local economy, and the natural environment. Rather than ranking companies or prescribing actions, it focuses on current practices, what sustains long-term commitment, and how companies can be better supported to become responsible corporate citizens.

By aligning Corporate Purpose with operations, businesses can enhance resilience, improve stakeholder confidence, and create lasting value for Singapore’s broader ecosystem. The findings also highlight the importance of collaboration across stakeholders such as charities, government agencies, and industry associations in empowering businesses to play a greater role in building a thriving, united Singapore.
