NVPC Individual Giving Survey 2010 Findings

This survey measures individual giving in terms of volunteerism and philanthropy in Singapore. Key objectives are to determine extent of individual giving of time and money, profile givers and study their behaviors and motivations, and inform policy.

Key findings

  1. The national volunteerism rate has risen to 23.3%, compared to 16.9% in the 2008 survey. This is the first time that the volunteerism rate has exceeded 20%;
  2. Total amounts donated by individuals have also risen to an all-time high of $1.07 billion in the 2010 survey compared to $0.96 billion in the 2008 survey.
