Returning for its third edition at the City of Good Summit 2025, State of Play made a strong comeback – this time with a significant expansion, tripling the number of exhibitors. This dynamic, trade fair-styled event brought together 60 community partners and ground-up initiatives across a diverse range of causes – from children, community, and education to arts, sports, and heritage. It offered corporates a unique opportunity to engage directly with these organisations, gain insight into real ground needs, and explore impactful collaborations.

Building on the momentum of previous years, State of Play continues to nurture purposeful partnerships that drive collective action for greater social impact. This year’s edition featured 60 booths and welcomed 333 visitors from 198 corporate organisations, resulting in over 860 meaningful connections made.

Fostering Long-Term Collaboration

Sufei Lin, Director, Corporate and Industry Partnerships, NVPC, said, “Singapore is beginning to see a transition from one-off engagements to more meaningful and sustained collaboration between corporates and community partners, and the success of State of Play attests to this shift. It is heartening to note that companies in Singapore want to better understand community needs and see how they can best contribute time, expertise and resources, and in so doing make stronger impact in society as Companies of Good.”

Shirley Lim, Regional Lead, Sustainability (AVP), Fullerton Health, shared her experience, “At State of Play, there are a lot of interesting partners, and a lot of ideas are flooding through. It’s like my annual homecoming where I discover new potential partners that I could consider creating an impactful programme to collaborate with. I am just very amazed at this year’s depth and breadth of the partners that are out there. In sharing their programmes and opportunities for people to collaborate with them.”

From the perspective of community organisations, State of Play also serves as a valuable platform to raise awareness about their work. Many partners shared how these engagements help unlock new avenues of support, from funding to skills-based volunteering.

Allinda Chew, Assistant Manager, Volunteer & Community Engagement, Care Corner Singapore, added, “We need corporate volunteers to join us to help augment our services, such as their expertise in terms of communications, marketing, as well as the funding support that allows us to do important preventive and developmental work.”

Success Stories from State of Play 2024

Following their connection at State of Play 2024, KPMG and Child at Street 11 embarked on a multi-year collaboration. Since then, KPMG funded repairs to a faulty electrical board and air conditioner (valued at S$21,000) and mobilised their employees to pack more than 60 care packs for every child. Each care pack was filled with essentials that were curated for the child’s specific needs. They also organised an outing for the children to visit Mandai Wildlife Reserve as a part of NVPC’s Great Singapore Give campaign. KPMG is dedicated to further supporting Child at Street 11 through meaningful programmes and initiatives conducted by their volunteers.

SportCares was a community partner at State of Play 2024, where they connected with Amberheart Foundation. As a champion of using sport to uplift children and youth at risk, isolated seniors, and persons with disabilities and special needs, SportCares found strong synergy with Amberheart Foundation, where supporting Singapore’s sports development is a key focus area. This culminated in a S$500,000 donation to support their programmes.
