The annual President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Awards (PVPA), conferred by the President of Singapore, celebrates individuals, leaders, organisations, and communities who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to giving.

The Communities of Good award goes to outstanding charities and ground-ups that have been exemplary in leveraging networks and community-driven solutions to enable giving and create a positive social impact, while the City of Good award recognises cross-sector partnerships that have achieved a significant and sustainable impact, resulting in lasting contributions to society.

Samaritans of Singapore Limited (SOS) – Saving Lives Through Timely Intervention

Samaritans of Singapore Limited (SOS) adopts a holistic approach to suicide prevention through its three key pillars: prevention, intervention, and postvention. Their timely interventions prevent at least one suicide every 14 hours. In 2022, a 32% drop in suicide deaths—the lowest since 2020—was recorded across all age groups.

SOS also contributes to national committees to shape suicide prevention strategies. Their solutioning approach is multi-sectoral and collaborative, working with partners such as the Singapore Red Cross and the National University of Singapore to co-develop effective support systems. SOS integrates volunteers into service delivery, including crisis helplines and text support, and prioritises strong volunteer management as part of their strategic direction.

TOUCH Community Services – A Community-Powered Force for Wellness and Support

TOUCH Community Services impacts over 200,000 lives per year through programmes in Digital-Mental Wellness and support for families, children, youth, seniors, caregivers, and persons with disabilities. With flagship initiatives such as DigitalMlNDSET, LiveOn!, Project 123, Reablement, JOURNEY, and TOUCH Cyber Wellness, TOUCH demonstrates scale and impact across Singapore through its 32 centres — powered by 17,000 volunteers, strategic partnerships, and evidence-based, user-centric solutions.

24asia – Empowering Migrant Workers Through Skills, Support, and Advocacy

Communities of Good (Groundup) winner – 24asia

24asia empowers the migrant worker community through skills training, health support, and advocacy for social inclusion and policy change. They have trained over 3,800 individuals in areas such as digital literacy, public speaking, and leadership, and engaged more than 5,000 workers through annual International Migrant Day celebrations. Other initiatives include beach clean-ups (removing 7,500 trash items), food distribution during Ramadan (6,000 packets), donating 800 bags of blood, and hosting 150 entertainment events to support mental well-being.

Their approach is grounded in community feedback, with monthly reviews to update and tailor their programmes. Through collaborations with partners such as HealthServeHope Initiative Alliance, the Ministry of Manpower, and StarLight, 24asia maximises its impact by connecting migrant workers with resources and local volunteers, effectively serving as a bridge between communities.

Over the past decade, the unwavering support and collaboration among CCF, KMSPKS, and QB HOUSE have been instrumental in driving the success of the Hair for Hope campaign. These strong partnerships have not only helped raise over $2.7 million for CCF but have also played a key role in expanding the campaign’s reach and impact.

In 2025, the HfH campaign reached a remarkable new milestone of $5.2 million raised, with more than 5,200 shavees participating nationwide. This growth is a testament to the collective power of these partnerships and the ability of the community to unite for a cause greater than themselves.
